Venice

After Mykonos we stopped in Venice for 3 nights before heading home. We arrived by train and unsure of how we would get to our hotel, we opted for a water taxi. Best decision ever! Totally worth it, highly recommend to take a least once. It is so convenient, wind in your hair, feeling like movie stars!

The water taxi took us to the doorstep of our hotel, Hotel Pappadopoli. https://all.accor.com/hotel/1313/index.en.shtml?utm_campaign=seo+maps&utm_medium=seo+maps&utm_source=google+Maps

Great hotel, would definitely stay there again. We dropped our stuff and went off to walk around town, and had drinks and snacks at St. Marks Square. We noticed at that time most of the restaurants in the square only served drinks.

Up early the next day for our Gondola ride. It was lovely, perfect weather, beautiful views all around, we just sat back and took in the history and sunshine

Coffee break, then off to Murano to see the hand made glass. I bought two glasses because Prosecco will taste better in them. I also bought a bunch of ornaments and rings for gifts. We had a really good lunch there and was obsessed with the glass cups there too. When we got back to Venice explored more around town some and took another private water taxi ride. We did take the public water buses as well, super easy and convenient. The water taxis are just a little more fun and convenient.

We may have taken another water taxi ride that day to get to the other side of town before the stores closed. We got Poke bowls to go and sat by the water. Poke bowls with an Italian twist was pretty good. They came with tomatoes and feta.

We love history and coffee so going to one of the oldest coffeehouses in the world was on the list. Caffe Florian, opened in 1720, known for their timeless style, quality and elegance.

We spent the rest of the afternoon listening to music in St. Marks Square which was so nice and one of our favorite parts, next to all the private water taxis πŸ™‚

And then how amazing we got to meet up with Gail & Larry in Venice. They were at the start of their Italy trip. We were able to get together on our last day and their first full day.

Venice at Night

We really enjoyed Venice. All the history and charm here really does make it a unique and special place. It does get super crowded, so get up early to get some moments of the city to yourselves, totally worth it. Ciao!
